Multiple Exposure, by Harry Callahan is a Gelatin silver print done in 1956. Callahan taught at the Institute of design in Chicago and later at the Rhode Island school of design. Callahan cultivated a cooler more detached approach to his work. He was more venturesome and more various in his subject matter and a perfectionist. He began to use landscapes, street scenes, the nude figure, and architecture and sought to revisualize them as worlds of pristine and untouchable beauty. He did this by double or even multiple exposures, as well as to underexpose and then overdevelop, among numerous other strategies. I really enjoy this picture because of how he did it.
